Who makes Spliz.
One person, a French company, a first commit on 15 January 2026. This page says who, why, and what Spliz does and does not do.
Why it exists
New Year’s Eve 2025, a dinner in Montreal, three friends from three countries. The bill got split in a minute. Paying back $47 took twenty minutes and never happened: no two payment apps talked to each other.
Spliz starts where most splitting apps stop, at the moment the money has to move. Tracking who paid what is free. Settling the group is optional, and when the group chooses it, every balance clears in one transaction.
What Spliz does
You create a group, share a link, and friends join with a first name, no account. Everyone adds what they paid. Spliz keeps each person’s share and net balance, with the expenses behind each number.
When the group decides to settle, each person approves their own share from their own phone. Once the required approvals and funds are in place, the whole group settles in one transaction in USDC on Base, or nothing moves.
What Spliz never does
Spliz holds neither your funds nor your keys. The USDC stays in each person’s own wallet until settlement, then goes straight to the others. Spliz cannot move money without your signature, and cannot reverse a transaction.
The only fee is 0.1% of what moves at settlement, $0.10 minimum, shown before you sign. Network fees are covered. Buying or withdrawing USDC goes through a partner with its own terms, in the countries it covers.
