Paying friends back

Pay a friend back in USDC. Wherever they are.

Different countries, different banks, one balance. Log what was fronted and settle it in USDC.

To pay a friend back in USDC, put the expense in a Spliz for the two of you: who paid, how much, split how. The net balance shows what you owe. Once the required approvals and funds are in place, it settles in USDC on Base, from your wallet to theirs, whatever country each of you banks in.

How to do it

  1. Create a Spliz for the two of you

Send the link. Your friend joins with a first name, no account, from any country.

  2. Log what each of you fronted

The tickets, the deposit, the gift you went in on together. Split equally or by exact amounts.

  3. Read the net balance

Two expenses in opposite directions become one number. Only the difference moves.

  4. Settle in USDC on Base

Once the required approvals and funds are in place, every balance clears in one transaction in USDC on Base, all at once or not at all. Check the amounts and the fee before signing.

A worked example

Two friends, two cities

  • Concert tickets $140 paid by Maya in Lisbon, split between 2: $70 each. Dinner deposit $30 paid by Jon in New York, split between 2: $15 each.
  • Balances: Maya +$55, Jon -$55.
  • With the required approvals and funds in place, $55 moves in USDC on Base. Spliz fee: $0.10, the minimum.

No “which app do you use”. One balance, settled in USDC, on the same network for both.

What Spliz brings

No bank in common

USDC on Base is the same for a wallet in Lisbon and a wallet in New York. Neither of you needs the other’s national app.

Your wallet, your funds

Spliz is non-custodial. The USDC stays in your wallet until settlement, then goes straight to your friend.

Net, not gross

You paid some, they paid some. Only the difference moves, once.

Receive USDC from anywhere

Send USDC on Base from any wallet or exchange to your Spliz wallet address. Buying by card through a partner is available in the countries it covers.

Tiny fee, only at settlement

Free to track. 0.1% of what moves at settlement, $0.10 minimum, shown before you sign. Network fees are covered.

Common questions

Does my friend need a Spliz account?

Not to join and log expenses: the link is enough. To receive USDC they sign in, and a wallet is created for them at sign-in if they do not have one.

How long does the payment take?

Settlement runs once the required approvals and funds are in place. The on-chain transaction on Base then confirms in seconds.

Is there a limit on the amount?

Spliz applies transfer limits per user, set out in its terms; a settlement above them is blocked. Buying or withdrawing USDC through a partner follows that partner’s own limits.

One balance. Settled across the border.

Less to work out. More to enjoy.
