To split a bill in USDC, add each expense with who paid and who shares it. Spliz nets the balances, and the group settles them in USDC on Base in one transaction once the required approvals and funds are in place. Nothing leaves a wallet without its owner’s signature.
How to do it
Create the Spliz and share the link
Friends join with a first name, no account. A wallet is created at sign-in for anyone who needs one; it can be exported later.
Log each expense as it happens
Who paid, how much, who is in. Equal shares by default; weighted or exact when a dish or a taxi was not for everyone.
Read the net balances
Spliz nets what each person fronted against what they consumed. One number per person, in the display currency you choose.
Settle in USDC on Base
Once the required approvals and funds are in place, every balance clears in one transaction in USDC on Base, all at once or not at all. Check the amounts and the fee before signing.
A worked example
A dinner for 5, in USDC
- Dinner $200 paid by Ana, split between 5: $40 each. Taxi $30 paid by Leo, split between the 3 who shared it: $10 each.
- Balances: Ana +$150, Leo -$20, Sam -$50, the 2 others -$40 each.
- With the required approvals and funds in place, $150 moves in USDC on Base. Spliz fee: $0.15.

Common questions
Do we need ETH for gas?
No. Spliz covers the network fee on Base. You only need USDC on Base in your wallet for the amount you owe.
Can a friend who has no USDC join?
Yes. They join by link, log expenses and see their balance. If the group settles in the app, they need USDC on Base in their wallet by then, received from any wallet or exchange, or bought by card through a partner where available.
Which network does the USDC have to be on?
Base. Send USDC to your Spliz wallet address on the Base network only; USDC sent on another network does not arrive in the app.
Can we see amounts in our own currency?
Yes. Choose one of 40+ display currencies for the expenses and balances. Settlement is in USDC, and the amount to sign is shown in USDC.
