Where the local currency moves fast, groups keep their money in USDC. Spliz keeps the accounts in the same unit.
To split expenses with friends in digital dollars, log each expense in a Spliz and read the balances in USDC, one dollar each. Show them in pesos or any display currency if you prefer; what is owed does not change with the exchange rate. Once the required approvals and funds are in place, the group settles in USDC on Base.
How to do it
Create the group, share the link
Friends join with a first name, no account. A wallet is created at sign-in for anyone who needs one.
Log expenses, choose your display currency
Show amounts in pesos, dollars or any of 40+ currencies. The balance behind them is in USDC and stays put.
Bring USDC on Base to your wallet
Send it from any wallet or exchange to your Spliz wallet address, on the Base network only. Buying by card through a partner is available in the countries it covers.
Settle in USDC on Base
Once the required approvals and funds are in place, every balance clears in one transaction in USDC on Base, all at once or not at all. Check the amounts and the fee before signing.
A worked example
An asado for 6
- Meat and drinks $90 paid by Lucas, split between 6: $15 each. The quincho $60 paid by SofÃa, split between 6: $10 each.
- Balances: Lucas +$65, SofÃa +$35, the 4 others -$25 each.
- With the required approvals and funds in place, $100 moves in USDC on Base. Spliz fee: $0.10.
Two people fronted, four pay back, one transaction. The $25 owed on Sunday is still $25 on Friday.

Common questions
Do I have to buy USDC in the app?
No. Send USDC you already hold from any wallet or exchange to your Spliz wallet address, on the Base network only. Buying by card through a partner is offered where the partner operates.
What if a friend does not hold USDC?
They join by link and log expenses anyway. If the group settles in the app, they need USDC on Base in their wallet by then, received or bought where available.
Can I see the amounts in pesos?
Yes. Pick your display currency in the app. Expenses and balances show in it; the amount to sign at settlement is shown in USDC.
Is USDC the same as a dollar?
USDC is a stablecoin issued by Circle, redeemable one for one against the US dollar with its issuer. It is not legal tender, and Spliz gives no investment advice.
